Rapid developments of genome sequencing and bioinformatics tools provide very fast and efficient tools for genetic improvements of livestocks such as cattle, sheep and pigs in animal breeding. Especially, incorporation of full genome sequencing information in animal model would expedite selection process by increasing selection accuracy. In this seminar, several leading edge methods and analysis techniques for genoem selection are introduced and presented with advantages and disadvantages in improving selection efficiency of cattle and sheep in Australia. Multiple trait animal models with genome information  are also introducted to characterize genes of pleiotrophy for economic traits, as well as to predicte genome-based breeding values for the multiple traits.
