Welcome to 11th JSSUME 2010

It is my great pleasure and honor to announce that the 11th Joint Symposium between Sister Universities (JSSUME) will be held 26-28 August 2010 at Yeungnam University in Gyengsan city, Korea. On behalf of faculty members of school of mechanical engineering of Yeungnam University I welcome all of you who will join this symposium.

Since the first JSSUME in 1994 at Yeungnam University, our symposium has been growing bigger in size and became more fruitful in exchanging technical ideas in the field of mechanical engineering. Also, it has provided great privilege to know each other and make our friendship stronger.

We are living in the era of very rapidly changing environment and technology. On the other hand, protecting earth environment is getting more and more important than ever. Therefore, we hope to discuss deeply on Green Energy and Convergence Technologies in the field of mechanical engineering during this symposium.

This year we are pleased to have new friends from China, India and some other countries to share the ideas in advanced technologies and friendship. Also, the year 2010 has a special meaning to us, because this year is the 50th anniversary of foundation of the school of mechanical engineering of Yeungnam University. We have several programs to celebrate our golden jubilee throughout this year including this Symposium.

Finally, during the symposium banquet, appreciation plaques will be awarded to the following professors for their outstanding efforts to support the JSSUME; Prof. Hiroyuki Kisu at Nagasaki University, Prof. Hitoshi Ishii at Shizuoka University and Prof. Masaki Shiratori at Yokohama National University including Prof. Jae Do Kwon at Yeungnam University.
